NABHI Partners with NIDO Europe to Deliver Healthcare and Security to Egbejila Community

Nurses Across the Borders International (NABHI) is deeply committed to not only providing healthcare services but also addressing the broader needs of the communities we serve. That’s why we were proud to partner with the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDO Europe) for their impactful “Week in and for Nigerians” initiative from July 19th to 22nd, 2024.

This collaborative effort focused on the Egbejila community in Kwara State, Nigeria, where NABHI and NIDO Europe worked hand-in-hand to implement a range of programs focused on healthcare, security, and community development.

Two Days of Free Medical Outreach:

Understanding the crucial role of accessible healthcare, NABHI and NIDO Europe organized two days of free medical services for the Budo Nuhu communities within the Egbejila axis of Ilorin West Local Government Area. These outreach programs provided medical services offered i.e screenings, consultations, basic treatments, etc. to community members, directly addressing pressing health needs and promoting well-being.

Commissioning a New Era of Healthcare:

Beyond immediate medical assistance, the collaboration also led to the official commissioning of the newly renovated Egbejila Primary Health Care Center. This project represents a significant investment in long-term healthcare access for the community. By enhancing the center’s facilities and capabilities, NABHI and NIDO Europe aim to empower local healthcare providers and ensure that the Egbejila community has access to quality care.

Strengthening Community Safety:

In a further testament to their commitment to holistic community development, NABHI and NIDO Europe partnered to build and commission the Budo Nuhu Divisional Police Station. Recognizing that security is foundational to the well-being of a community, the new police station aims to:

• Increase police presence and accessibility for residents.

• Enhance law enforcement capacity for a swift and effective response to incidents.

• Deter crime and create a safer environment for residents and businesses.
